Fishing for winter chinooks is still great from southern Campbell River down to Hornby Island and all points in between!
From Salmon point trolling up to Shelter Pt in anywhere from 180' to 240' of water, fishing close to bottom has been producing. 5" plugs,green/white hootchie's and anchovies have been the hot lures. Bates beach was a little slower this past weekend (Jan 19)still producing a few nice chinook though! The northern strait of Geogia is looking healthy, lots of herring and krill around and thousands of "Blue Backs"small coho from 2-3 pounds...It should be a great 2013 season! |
